Featuring lifeguards and public restrooms from July until Labor Day (September), Gooch's Beach is one of three beaches that makes up Kennebunk Beach. Trolley service can bring visitors to the beach or parking permits can be purchased.
Goose Rocks Beach is a 3 mi (5 km), smooth sandy beach located between Kennebunkport and Cape Porpoise. Named after Goose Rocks, the offshore barrier reef rock formation that can be seen at low tide, the beach is known for its wide, smooth stretch of silver sand. However, it is not a commercial beach and walkers are asked to stay on marked paths and off the dunes. No lifegaurds or bathroom facilities are available.
Arundel Beach is located at the mouth of the Kennebunk River, near the Colony Hotel. It is often referred to as the Colony Beach. No lifeguards are available.
Mother's Beach one of three beaches that make up Kennebunk Beach and is located on the west end of Beach Avenue. Lifeguards are on duty from July until Labor Day (early September). There is also a small playground for children and public restrooms are on-site. Visitors need a parking permit for the beach lots or can take a trolley, which will drop them off at the beach.
Situated in between Gooch's and Mother's beaches, Middle Beach is the third area that makes up Kennebunk Beach. This portion is primarily made of rocks and is not a popular place for sun bathing, but is frequented by beach combers and walkers.
Made up of three beaches - Gooch's, Middle and Mother's - Kennebunk Beach is one of the most frequented beaches in Kennebunk and Kennebunkport. Found on the west side of Kennebunk River along Beach Avenue, this area has lifeguards (July to early September) at two of the beaches as well as a pathway that extends for 1.5 mi (2.4 km). Swimming, beach combing, surfing and sunbathing are just a few of the enjoyed activities at Kennebunk Beach.
